Daikatana: The Future of Online Gaming?
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Thursday, 03 May 2007

Could this be the come back that The Stranger was hinting towards - free, legal, patched Daikatana multiplayer for the masses.

This version is based upon the patched salesversion of Daikatana 1.2 and includes anything needed for Multiplayer. All singleplayer maps have been removed of course. The whole thing is absolutely legal and has been approved by John Romero himself.

A bit late on this one, but congratulations to GaRpY for winning the fourth inGame.de quake cup. This sunday sees the fifth cup in the season, and the last before the grand final two weeks after. Q3 wise, the XG CPMA CTF cup has progressed towards the final, with the winnners bracket final to be between noobs anonymouse and cgx. Finally, the sole UK Q4 ESWC spot is up for grabs at:

Eurocup Update
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Tuesday, 16 May 2006

The Q4 TDM Eurocup train rolls on, with victories for n!faculty over dlx, webone over neph, legacy of the mob vs killer rabbits and then tulls, and a walk over for FOE against SIMPLUS and aAa against sCa. sCa did pick up a victory over redcode, while neph picked up a default against iC, which I'm sure they're not complaining about. Finally, soulfly interviewed r2k from Dignitas about their win over sR, and the Eurocup in general.

In the 1v1 cup saw wins for forever over logan, k1ller against kanizzle, kanizzle over ahzaz, alter against str1py, winz over drush and fazz over uwu. cs3 beat airraid, who unfortunately had to leave the cup for personal reasons. Sunday was a bad day on the UK front, with dozo losing both maps to rufus, and HELL getting similar treatment from noble. It doesn't let up either, as Dozo has a tough game against Ooze tonight at 7pm, so pop along to #EuroCup.Q4 if you're about.

Written by Dr_Gonzo    Thursday, 11 May 2006

Germany have put themselves through to a losers bracket final against the UK after beating the Netherlands in the Clanbase Q4TDM NationsCup, with the winner of that game facing Sweden in the grand final. A strong performance by neok helped Germany to a two nil victory, 175 to 119 on Q4DM7tmp and 156 to 119, allegedly also on Q4DM7tmp .

Q41v1 Eurocup: Zaccubus out, Purri in
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Wednesday, 10 May 2006

4K's Zaccubus has been replaced by Purri after failing to turn up for his first two matches, leaving Purri with games to play against Frexuz, Cooller and draven. Draven himself trounced frexuz 2-0 yesterday, as did ooze to ortho. On the UK front, HELL had trouble with impulse, while GaRpY pulled off a solid win over az1d. The little group tables are showing Garpy as topping group G, dozo as mid table in group F, and HELL taking up the bottom slot of group A - though with only a few games played there's a long way to go yet.

Q4Max patch patch
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Wednesday, 10 May 2006

The 0.74a Q4Max patch did fulfill it's stated aim of fixing slowdowns in the mod. Unfortunately, it also crashed servers, so we now have a patch for the patch, 0.74b. It's another drop in, so you'll need 0.74 and 0.74a already installed. There are a few tweaks and bugfixes in on the client side as well, so it's worth the download.

Jolt Q3CTFL week 3 reviewed
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Wednesday, 10 May 2006

Bif has posted his review of the third week of games in the Jolt Q3 CTF league. Included are previews of next week's games, reviews of Sunday's matches, and all the usual banter from le foot:

The song goes “there may be trouble ahead” and the lyrics might well apply to SoulS who were not able to raise a team for their match with BiG on Sunday, a worrying development given that it comes off the back of a loss to SUPER in Week 2 and their problems last season which saw them barely making it to the final week.

Quake 3 Patch
Written by Dr_Gonzo    Tuesday, 09 May 2006

Fairly unexpectedly, id have released patches for their Q3 based games (Q3, RTCW, ET) to fix some security vulnerabilities which were recently uncovered. The patch is only teeny, and there are a load of downloads over on ESR. Hopefully the various server operators will get things patched quickly, as Q3 clients on the secure version will get kicked by PB on unpatched servers.
